New Energy Sales Channel Launched in 4 Months
Making green energy math simple

Introduction
About project
The green energy boom is creating a real commercial opportunity — but also a real problem. Homeowners want solar panels, heat pumps, and EV chargers. They just don't know if the numbers add up for them personally.
For a leading European smart home marketplace, this was both a challenge and a chance. Their customers were already asking the right questions. What was missing was a way to answer them — clearly, instantly, and in a way that turned curiosity into a sale.
The goal: build a green energy savings calculator that could become a fully-fledged sales channel. One that handles the complexity of energy pricing behind the scenes, while giving homeowners a transparent, trustworthy experience at the front. And do it fast enough to capture a market that wasn't waiting around.
They partnered with Miquido to make it happen.

Project Challenges
Engineering scalability in a shifting market
01. Managing "moving target" logic
Energy pricing, product bundles, and regulations change constantly. The platform needed to reflect that reality — giving customers accurate, up-to-date savings estimates without requiring expensive development work every time something in the market shifted.
02. High growth vs. early-stage fluidity
With strong growth ahead and an evolving product vision, every decision made during the MVP phase had consequences. The team needed to ship quickly for a fixed public launch date — without making architectural choices they'd regret six months later.
03. Future-proofing for a competitive market
The long-term ambition wasn't just one calculator for one brand. The platform needed to support future white-label scenarios and third-party integrations — meaning the core logic had to be reusable, not rebuilt from scratch each time.

Solutions
Headess, extensible, partnership-driven
01. Modular Medusa.js architecture
We chose Medusa.js as the foundation because it's modular by design — meaning the architecture could start focused on the calculator and expand into a full mobile platform without a rewrite. The business wouldn't be limited by the choices made on day one.
02. Decoupled logic for maximum agility
A headless approach means the pricing engine and the customer-facing experience are independent of each other. The sales and marketing team can update funnels, test new flows, and change how the product looks — without touching the core logic that keeps calculations accurate.
03. Flexible pricing & product modeling
Rather than building fixed product configurations into the code, we modelled energy products and pricing as dynamic entities. New components, updated rates, or new partner offerings can be introduced commercially — without a development sprint every time.
04. Custom questionnaire funnel
We built an intelligent, conditional questionnaire that adapts to each user's situation. It validates inputs in real time and only asks what's actually relevant — so customers reach an accurate, personalised savings estimate in under two minutes.
05. Seamless ecosystem integration
Every lead generated by the calculator flows directly into HubSpot with structured data already attached. The sales team receives qualified, context-rich leads — not raw form submissions. Calendly integration means booking a follow-up is immediate.
06. Proactive product partnership
Miquido worked as a strategic partner throughout — flagging tradeoffs, helping prioritise the MVP scope, and making sure that short-term decisions didn't create long-term technical debt. The goal was always a product the business could scale, not just ship.

Results
Go-to-market success, built to scale
01. A new sales channel live in 4 months
The platform launched on time with a fully working calculator and offer flow — giving customers the transparency they needed to confidently commit to green energy, and giving the business a direct route from interest to lead.
02. Sales team receives leads, not raw data
he entire journey from calculation to CRM is now automated. Sales teams work with structured, ready-to-use information — reducing the time from lead to conversation and improving conversion rates.
03. A platform ready for what comes next
The Medusa.js foundation means the business isn't constrained by its current feature set. Heat pumps, smart home integrations, post-lead monetisation, partner white-labelling — the architecture is already ready for it.
04. A competitive edge that's hard to copy
By choosing flexibility over shortcuts from the start, the client has a technical foundation that lets them move faster than competitors — adapting to market changes and onboarding new partners without starting from scratch.
